Faulkner earned her degree in mass communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and commenced her career writing for LA Weekly. 

Harris Faulkner Career Highlights

Harris Faulkner embarked on her career journey by contributing as a freelance business writer for LA Weekly, earning $50 per article. She then ventured into television with an internship at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles, where she initially handled minor tasks.

Faulkner's career path led her to Greenville, North Carolina, where she was a reporter and anchor at WNCT-TV. From 1992 to 2000, she held the position of evening anchor at Kansas City's WDAF-TV. 

However, during her time in Kansas City, Harris faced harassment and stalking from a former acquaintance who had followed her from North Carolina. Subsequently, she joined KSTP-TV in Minneapolis-Saint Paul as part of an evening anchor team until her departure in July 2004. 

In 2005, Faulkner made her entry into Fox Nea ws and served as a correspondent for the revival of A Current Affair until its discontinuation in October 2005. Her career at Fox News further blossomed as she anchored her first solo network newscast, Fox Report Weekend, from 2011 to 2017. 

Harris also became a substitute anchor for Shepard Smith on Shepard Smith Reporting and Martha MacCallum on The Story. Additionally, she made regular guest appearances on the late-night satire show Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, transitioning later to Gutfeld! and occasionally co-hosting The Five. 

In April 2014, Faulkner became one of the co-hosts of the daytime Fox News show Outnumbered, later assuming the role of anchor for Outnumbered Overtime in 2017, which adopted a more news-centric format. 

Harris' latest venture, The Faulkner Focus, commenced in early 2021. In June 2023, Faulkner stepped in as a guest host of Fox News Tonight after Tucker Carlson's departure. 

During her appearance, Faulkner made notable remarks about the perceived attack on religion and societal changes, expressing her views with strong convictions.

In 2021, Variety recognized Harris in their New York Women's Impact Report for her interview with then-president Donald Trump in 2020, following George Floyd's murder.

Harris Faulkner's Early Life

Harris Faulkner was born on October 13, 1965, at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, retired Lieutenant Colonel Bobby R. Harris, served as a United States Army officer and Army Aviator, stationed at the base with three tours in Vietnam. 

Faulkner's childhood was marked by relocation, including time spent in Stuttgart, West Germany. She pursued her higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications.
