Abrams founded Mediaite in 2009 and also started Gossip Cop. Additionally, he is the author of several books. Dan is also a co-owner of The Lion, a restaurant in New York City. 

Dan Abrams Lavish Lifestyle

Dan Abrams bought a 3,200-square-foot townhouse in New York City's West Village through two transactions, one in 2006 and the other in 2009, for $3.8 million. He put this property up for sale in May 2018 and sold it for $8 million in February 2023.

In 2017, Abrams purchased a condo in Washington D.C. for $414,000.

Dan Abrams began his career at Court TV, covering major cases like the O.J. Simpson trial, the International War Crimes Tribunal in the Netherlands, and the trials of Dr. Jack Kevorkian for assisted suicide in Michigan.

After leaving Court TV, Abrams joined NBC News in 1997 as a general assignment correspondent. He later became the Chief Legal Correspondent. Abrams hosted his own show, The Abrams Report, on MSNBC starting in 2001. He held this role until he became the General Manager of MSNBC from June 2006 to October 2007. 

Dan then focused on hosting Live with Dan Abrams, which later became Verdict with Dan Abrams, until August 2008. He also filled in as an anchor on the Today show. Abrams then launched his media company, including Mediaite and other sites. 

In March 2011, Abrams left NBC to become the Chief Legal Analyst for ABC News and a substitute anchor on Good Morning America. He later became the network's Chief Legal Affairs Anchor and an anchor on Nightline. 

Dan stepped down from his full-time role as Nightline anchor in December 2014 to focus on his media businesses but continued as the network's Chief Legal Analyst.

From October 2016 to June 2020, Abrams hosted the A&E show Live PD, which followed police officers live across the United States. He also co-hosted Grace vs. Abrams and produced and hosted Court Cam. Live PD was canceled in June 2020.

In July 2021, Dan joined NewsNation to host a nightly prime-time show called Dan Abrams Live, which premiered in September 2021. 

In June 2022, Abrams returned as host and executive producer for On Patrol: Live, a Reelz show following a format similar to Live PD. On Patrol: Live premiered in July 2022.

In September 2009, Abrams began Mediaite, a news site that appreciates the celebrity of the media. It combines articles with rankings of media personalities.

Geekosystem, launched on January 25, 2010, covers geek culture, including science, technology, and internet memes. It celebrates everything from technology to comics. 

Styleite, started on March 25, 2010, focuses on fashion news and opinions. It ranks designers and models. In 2015, it became Runway Riot, a site for plus-sized women. 

Launched in May 2010, SportsGrid offers sports news and video clips. It also tracks sports media. It was bought by Anthem Media Group in 2013. 

In 2011, Abrams Media created The Mary Sue to highlight women in geek culture. In 2014, Geekosystem merged into The Mary Sue. It was bought by GAMURS Group in 2021. 

In May 2012, Abrams launched The Braiser, focusing on chefs' lifestyles. 

In 2016, Abrams started LawNewz, a legal news website that live streams trials. It became Law&Crime in 2017 and was sold to Jellysmack in 2023. 

Launched in October 2018, Ambo TV is a Christian streaming service for sermons.

Dan's second book, "Lincoln's Last Trial: The Murder Case That Propelled Him to the Presidency," was published in June 2018. Abrams' third book, "Theodore Roosevelt for the Defense: The Courtroom Battle to Save His Legacy," was released on May 21, 2019.
